The Click Trap is a feature length documentary that exposes the dark side of online advertising: a lucrative business with a human cost.


By delving into the opaque world of programmatic advertising, monopolised by a handful of big tech companies and social media platforms, our audience will learn how this complex industry works and how it’s helping to fuel scams, disinformation and hate.

There is an urgent need to tell this story - unregulated online advertising is impacting people worldwide, both on and offline, even threatening the stability of our democracies.


Cyber experts, journalists, researchers, scam victims and legislation makers will help to tell this story, along with the digital activists mobilising for change.

Whether through direct action or pioneering political policy, The Click Trap will show that it is possible, and necessary, for us to make a difference.
