21 feature films, TV shows episodes, dozens of music videos and two documentaries were shot in the ciy of La Noue, near Paris. Most of those films depict the suburbs, its inhabitants, its issues, its story and stories. However, La Noue is a quiet place and doesn’t match the pictures shown explicitly or metaphorically by the films. Representing a reality despite it doesn’t concern the neighbourhood, La Noue is since the 80’s the place where filmmakers shoot in order to describe the Suburbs. What made all these directors want to go here, probably without knowing that they were several having the same idea ? Mickael Royer goes off to discover La Noue, an unusual and cinegenic neighborhood, like a movie star who didn’t have the chance to get a big head.
